Technical sheet
Every year, injection molding technology is becoming more and more in demand due to the simplicity and relatively low cost of the process, which allows mass production of prototypes or small batches of prototypes. Synthene PR 2000 polymer resin is excellent for injection molding.
The resin can be successfully used both for vacuum casting in industrial conditions and for amateur modeling with casting parts into flexible molds at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. The properties of Synthene PR 2000 allow the production of parts that mimic ABS as well as polystyrene (provided high impact resistance is maintained).
Scope of product use
The material can be used for the production of all parts and structural elements from which the project requires high strength and impact resistance. Due to the fact that the resin practically does not react with the mold, finished products are easily removed from it and practically do not need finishing. It is for this reason that this resin is widely used for the production of the following products:
- Electrical products.
- Many types of children’s toys (which just need to have high impact resistance and elasticity).
- POS products.
But this resin and its analogues ( biresin g27 , for example) are especially widely used in the automotive industry. Fasteners for wires, connecting clips, decorative covers and casings, air intakes, decorative elements, moldings, etc. are produced from it.
Benefits of using Synthene PR 2000
It is no coincidence that resin for vacuum casting is becoming an increasingly popular option. Finished products for which Synthene PR 2000 has been used have a number of important characteristics:
- The material is fully compliant with the RoHS standard, (2011/65/UE), it is completely free of mercury.
- Due to the reduced viscosity, the resin completely fills the mold when poured.
- A simple ratio of working components is 1:2.
- At a temperature of about 70°C, no more than 45 minutes pass from the moment of pouring to the removal of the finished part.
