Technical sheet
Synthene PR 740 polymer resin is excellent for casting small, thin-walled parts with a high degree of detail, which is why it is highly valued by modellers. In addition, this material is successfully used by craftsmen for the production of small decorative items. Its other benefits are:
- One of the most fluid polymers, which allows it to be used for pouring small parts and at room temperature and standard atmospheric pressure, without the use of vacuum chambers. This resin compares favorably, for example, with Axson f32 resin , which must be cast under vacuum conditions.
- Finished products are characterized by very high mechanical strength.
- When working, there is practically no smell, which is also ideal in the case of home modeling.
- Easily amenable to any mechanical processing.
- Compatible with almost any coloring compositions.
- The combination of low viscosity and no foaming ensures that even small molds are perfectly cast the first time.
- Workpieces cast from this resin are excellent for milling, and are suitable for low processing speeds due to their high density and lack of tendency to chipping, and for high ones due to thermal stability.
- Pouring into reusable tin molds is allowed (i.e. using a tin catalyst).
To work, the resin with the hardener is mixed in a ratio of 1: 1.
Optimal working environment
To achieve the desired result, the following characteristics of the environment are required:
- The temperature of the resin and hardener is 22-25°C.
- The air temperature in the room is 23-30°C.
- The mold temperature is 30-40°C.
Important! When using this type of resin, the molds must be absolutely dry, without the slightest trace of moisture. Failure to comply with this rule sharply degrades the quality of the casting.
